Types of Spinal Injections
Mr Purushothaman specializes in providing comprehensive care for patients suffering from neck and back problems. He is dedicated to offering personalized treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each patient. We utilize a range of non-surgical and surgical methods to ensure the best possible outcomes. There are several types of spinal injection which are used under different circumstances:

nerve root blocks
These injections are used to diagnose and relieve pain stemming from nerve root irritation in the back or neck. A combination of a local anaesthetic and a steroid is injected near the irritated nerve root.

edipdural steroid injections (ESI)
These injections deliver corticosteroids directly into the epidural space around the spinal nerves to reduce inflammation and alleviate pain from conditions such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and sciatica.

Facet joint injections
Targeting the small joints between each vertebra, facet joint injections help to diagnose and treat pain caused by arthritis or injury to these joints. The injections include a mixture of a local anaesthetic and a steroid.

sacroiliac joint injections
These injections are used to treat lower back pain that originates from the sacroiliac joint, located where the spine meets the pelvis. They involve injecting a mixture of local anaesthetic and steroid into the joint.
